This documentary profiles the determination of a profoundly deaf boy and his family,
as he grows from an early, silent childhood to graduating from the Culinary
Institute of America and becoming an award-winning
chef at his own trend-setting restaurant.

Following the film, we'll hear briefly from Darren's father, Bernie and
Oz Crosby, the father of two hearing impaired children.
Oz was the original funder of Dorothy's first film.
To complete the program, ABILITIES UNITED will host
a presentation and discussion with a leading expert
in child development and language disorders.
Heidi Feldman, M.D., Ph.D.,
Dr. Feldman is an endowed professor of Developmental-Behavioral
Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine.
