This Action Guide is designed to help you plan screenings, and possibly arrange activities before, during and after the films are shown. It includes suggestions for screening venues, media tips, and information on how you can support your local Cable Access station’s broadcast of these documentaries.

Whether used as organizing tools, as event fundraisers, as informational resources and/or as catalysts to activate grassroots participation, we know from thirty-five years of screenings and feedback, that the power of these documentaries is significant. This Action Guide will help you plan and orchestrate your efforts as efficiently and effectively as possible.

About All* Above All

All* Above All unites organizations and individuals to build support for lifting the bans that deny abortion coverage. Our vision is to restore public insurance coverage so that every woman, however much she makes, can get affordable, safe abortion care when she needs it.

American Association of University Women

The American Association of University Women supports the right of every woman to safe, accessible, affordable, and comprehensive family planning and reproductive health services. This position stems from AAUW's 2009-2011 Public Policy Program, which advocates, "choice in the determination of one's reproductive life." Family planning fosters self-sufficiency, promotes preventative health care, and educates people on ways to protect themselves and their families from the spread of sexually transmitted infections. AAUW members have made the protection of reproductive rights a policy principle since 1977.

American Civil Liberties Union(ACLU)

The ACLU's Reproductive Freedom Project protects everyone's right to make informed decisions free from government interference about whether and when to become a parent.

The American Medical Women's Association

The American Medical Women's Association empowers women to lead in improving health for all within a model that reflects the unique perspective of women.The Reproductive Health Initiative (RHI) is a project of the American Women's Association which was established in 1993 to improve reproductive health curricula and training in U.S. medical schools. Today, RHI's projects are continuing to address deficiencies in reproductive health medical education, while educating practicing clinicians on the newest innovations in reproductive health care and establishing international networks to strengthen reproductive health medical education.

Community Abortion Information & Resource Project(CAIR)

The Community Abortion Information & Resource operates a toll-free hotline who provide accurate, non-biased information and referral in addition to financial assistance in the form of grants for abortion services.

Catholics for Choice

Catholics for Choice is part of the great majority of faithful in the Catholic church who disagree with the dictates of the Vatican on matters related to sex, marriages, family life and motherhood.

Center for Reproductive Rights

The Center for Reproductive Rights uses the law to advance reproductive freedom as a fundamental human right that all governments are legally obligated to protect, respect and fulfill.

Urge

URGE (Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity) envisions a world where all people have agency over their own bodies and relationships, and the power, knowledge, and tools to exercise that agency. URGE builds this vision by engaging young people in creating and leading the way to sexual and reproductive justice for all by providing training, field mobilization, and national leadership for a youth-driven agenda.

The Church Ladies For Choice

The Church Ladies For Choice is an entertainment group in New York City which was conceived in 1990 by the underground activista mastermind, Yasha Bunchik. The group brings performance values to Pro-Choice Women's Healthcare Clinic Defenses.

Emily's List

Emily's List members are dedicated to building a progressive America by electing pro-choice Democratic women to office. They believe in the power of women as candidates, as contributors, as campaign professionals, and as voters to bring about great change in our country.

Equality Now protects and promotes human rights of women around the world. Working with national human rights organizations and individual activists.

Exhale

A service that meets women's after-abortion needs. They provide an alternative to politically motivated counseling agencies during post-care to offer support.

Feminist Majority Foundation

The Feminist Majority Foundation develops bold, new strategies and programs to advance women's equality, non-violence, economic development, and, most importantly, empowerment of women and girls in all sectors of society

Guttmacher Institute

The Guttmacher Institute advances sexual and reproductive health through an interrelated program of social science research, policy analysis and public education designed to generate new ideas, encourage public debate, promote sound policy and program development and, ultimately, inform individual decision making.

IPAS (International Projects Assistance Services)

Founded in 1973, IPAS is a global nongovernmental organization dedicated to ending preventable deaths and disabilities from unsafe abortion. Through local, national and global partnerships, Ipas works to ensure that women can obtain safe, respectful and comprehensive abortion care, including counseling and contraception to prevent future unintended pregnancies.

Formed from the movement that secured the right to vote for women, the centerpiece of the League's efforts remain to expand participation and give a voice to all Americans. Our issues are grounded in our respected history of making democracy work for all citizens.

Lilith: A fund for Reproductive Equity

We envision a society in which equal access to abortion is guaranteed for all women, regardless of economic situation. The Lilith Fund believes in reproductive equity. The right to choose an abortion is meaningless without access to abortion services. Restrictions on abortion access and funding are discriminatory because they especially burden low-income women. We oppose all efforts to restrict abortion rights and are committed to fighting for access to abortion for all women.

Medical Students for Choice

Their primary purpose is to support students and residents --- future abortion providers and pro-choice physicians --- as they organize events, advocate for curriculum change, and ensure the provision of comprehensive reproductive healthcare in their medical schools and residency programs!

National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health (NLIRH) works to ensure the fundamental human right to reproductive health and justice for Latinas.

National Network of Abortion Funds

This affiliation of community-based abortion funds supports existing funds and helps create new funds for under-served areas. NNAF provides direct financial assistance to women who want abortions and cannot afford them.

National Organization for Women (NOW)

National Organization for Women (NOW) affirms that reproductive rights are issues of life and death for women, not mere matters of choice

Network of Reproductive Options

Network of Reproductive Options is a community based non-profit organization with the mission of empowering communities through abortion access, grassroots health education, and reproductive options. We provide abortion referrals and advocacy, pregnancy options counseling, grassroots health education and self-health workshops that include fertility awareness and cervical self exam.

Our Bodies Ourselves (OBOS)

Also known as the Boston Women's Health Book Collective (BWHBC) this non-profit organization serves in the public interest of women's health education, advocacy, and consulting. Our Bodies, Ourselves is our core vehicle for educating women about health, sexuality and reproduction.

Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health (PRCH)

Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health (PRCH) supports policies that promote reproductive healthcare for all, including increased access to birth control, emergency contraception, and abortion services, as well as comprehensive sex education. PRCH opposes policies that place politics over science at the expense of the reproductive healthcare of women, men, and teens.

Planned Parenthood

Population Council, GLOBAL

Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice

Brings the moral power of religious comminuties to ensure reproductive choice through education and advocacy. The coalition seeks to give clear voice to the reproductive issues of people of color, those living in poverty and other undeserved populations.

Reproductive Health Access Project

Reproductive Health Access Project seeks to ensure that women and teens at every socioeconomic level can readily obtain birth control and abortion from their own primary care clinician.

Reproductive Health Technologies Project

They seek to advance the ability of every woman of any age to achieve full reproductive freedom with access to the safest, most effective, appropriate and acceptable technologies for ensuring her own health and controlling her fertility. To fulfill this mission, they seek to build consensus in support of an education, research and advocacy agenda for reproductive health and reproductive freedom.

Sexuality Information and Education Council of the U.S. (SIECUS)

SIECUS affirms that sexuality is a fundamental part of being human, one that is worthy of dignity and respect. We advocate for the right of all people to accurate information, comprehensive education about sexuality, and sexual health services. SIECUS works to create a world that ensures social justice and sexual rights.

The Campaign for Female Education

Camfed fights poverty and HIV/AIDS in Africa by educating girls and empowering women to become leaders of change.

The Doula Project

The Doula Project works to create a society in which all pregnant people have access to the care and support they need during their pregnancies and the ability to make healthy decisions for themselves, whether they face birth, miscarriage, stillbirth, fetal anomaly, or abortion.

Words of Choice

A dynamic pro-choice theater company, Words of Choice travels to communities across the country to open new conversations about reproductive freedom, using its signature theater performance pieces (‘smart, funny, endangered’), creativity workshops, storytelling and the arts. A New York City based professional company, this nonprofit organization also uses its resources to share feminist pro-choice art of all sorts and to help other groups develop creative prochoice outreach.

Women On Waves

Women on Waves aims to prevent unsafe abortions and empower women to exercise their human rights to physical and mental autonomy, by combining free healthcare services and sexual education with advocacy. In response to this violation of womens human rights and medical need, Women on Waves sails to countries where abortion is illegal.

Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF)

WILPF works to create an environment of political, economic, social and psychological freedom for all members of the human community, so that true peace can be enjoyed by all.

Women's Law Project

The Mission of the Women's Law Project is to create a more just and equitable society by advancing the rights and status of all women throughout their lives. To this end, we engage in high-impact litigation, advocacy, and education.

Women's Liberation Birth Control Project

They believe that everyday people make change.not the government, the courts, the media, or celebrities. We believe that the freedom women have now was won by movements of women, organizing and fighting for change. We aim to build a grassroots movement of women to bring new fire to the fight for our liberation.

Women's Reproductive Rights Assistance Project (WRRAP)

The Women's Reproductive Rights Assistance Project raises money for low income women of all ages, ethnicities and cultural backgrounds who are unable to pay for either emergency contraception or a safe and legal abortion.

The Voter Participation Center (VPC) is a research/driven, results/oriented nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to increasing the participation and amplifying the voices of unmarried women (women who are single, widowed, divorced or separated) and other historically underrepresented groups in our democracy.

Women's Global Network for Reproductive Rights

Women's Global Network for Reproductive Rights is a southern/based global network that builds and strengthens movements for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and justice.
